Kapow! is written by British author Adam Thirlwell, published by Visual Editions, and tells the story of a group of interconnected characters caught up in the whirlwind of revolution during the Arab Spring. The over-doped, over caffeinated, unnamed narrator’s tales spin off into wild digressions and so does the text, requiring the reader to unfurl and rotate the pages to keep up. I worked with Studio Frith and the Netherlands-based printer die Keure to produce the complex design. Nominated for Designs of the Year 2013.
